Unmanned Safety Institute (USI), the industry leader in remote pilot safety education, training, and certification, announced their partnership with Zephyr Drone Simulator developer, Little Arms Studios to offer the industry’s leading simulation training solution to USI’s learners.
USI will be incorporating the Zephyr Drone Simulator into their Learning Management System (LMS) so that students enrolled in UAS training programs will have the opportunity to practice UAS flight simulation online. Learners will be able to fly a variety of different UAS platforms and can choose from 25 different flight modules and scenarios, including free flight, flight path training, obstacle course, and a drone racing course. The software not only logs flight information which will help meet certain course requirements, but it also tracks flight statistics and FAA violations, providing the “pilot” with valuable insight into what areas of flight they may need to improve in before they put a real UAV up in the air.
Starting in the 2019-2020 school year, USI students working towards their Visual Line of Sight System Operations (VSO)™ Certification will be able to use hand-held controllers and Zephyr drone simulator to gain real-time flight hours and experience that are part of the certification requirements.
