USI and RECF Launch New Partnership to Prepare Students for FAA Part 107 Certificate
The Unmanned Safety Institute (USI), a leader in workforce-ready drone education and safety training, is proud to announce a new partnership with The Robotics Education & Competition Foundation (RECF) to provide participants in the Aerial Drone Competition community with access to USI's FAA Commercial Remote Pilot Exam Prep Course.
The Robotics Education & Competition Foundation Aerial Drone Competition inspires thousands of students to develop valuable STEM, aviation, programming, teamwork, and problem-solving skills through hands-on drone competitions. As students continue exploring career pathways in unmanned aviation, this partnership provides an opportunity to take the next step toward professional drone operations by preparing for the FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot certification.
USI's Commercial Remote Pilot Exam Prep Course is designed to help aspiring commercial drone pilots build a strong foundation in FAA regulations, airspace, weather, flight operations, and safety while preparing for the FAA Part 107 knowledge exam. The self-paced program includes engaging online instruction, practice assessments, and expert-developed content backed by more than a decade of USI's experience training the next generation of drone professionals.
"Students participating in drone competitions are already building technical and problem-solving skills that translate directly into the workforce," said Josh Olds, Chief Executive Officer of the Unmanned Safety Institute.
USI and The Robotics Education & Competition Foundation are helping students build on their competition experience by providing a clear pathway from STEM education to FAA certification and careers in the rapidly growing unmanned aviation industry.
The FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate is required to operate drones commercially in the United States and serves as the gateway to career opportunities across industries including public safety, construction, utilities, agriculture, infrastructure inspection, engineering, media, and more.
By combining The Robotics Education & Competition Foundation's hands-on competitive learning environment with USI's industry-leading training, this partnership empowers students to transition from the classroom and competition arena into workforce-ready education and industry-recognized credentials.
