Introducing USI's Refreshed Certification Structure:
Empowering Excellence in Remotely Piloted Operations

It has long been recognized that the FAA Part 107 exam alone, does not adequately prepare a learner for corporate drone operations. Perfect practice makes perfect. At USI, we understand that success in UAS operations relies on more than just theoretical knowledge.

The new certification structure is designed to empower drone pilots, operators, and organizations by providing comprehensive UAS training and third-party validation (third-party, proctored assessment), ensuring excellence (also known as ROI) in every operation.

Let's dive in.

The certification program consists of three stages. STAGE 1 and STAGE 2 are distinct stages that we will discuss in full detail and are known as our Primary and Advanced certifications. STAGE 3 certifications focus on automation levels and are known as Complex certifications.

STAGE 1 - Primary Certification

Stage 1 certification focuses on low-risk, low-complexity operations, catering to visual line of sight operations with aircraft under 20 pounds. It's the perfect starting point for those new to the world of drones, offering a solid foundation in safe and efficient UAS operations.

STAGE 2 - Advanced Certification

Stage 2 certification is specifically designed for advanced operations, including beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS) education and training, resulting in medium to high-risk operations in complex airspace or with aircraft over 20 pounds. This stage pushes the boundaries of what UAS can achieve, opening doors to endless possibilities for how businesses conduct their drone operations.

Third-Party Validation Ensures Excellence in Every Operation

All USI certifications are third-party validated, requiring skill-based evaluation. We provide hands-on training, leverage regional workforce partners in secondary and post-secondary education nationally, and leverage cutting edge simulation and cloud-based products to ensure our learners are well-prepared for real-world challenges.
