Tom P. Haney Technical College (Haney Tech) and the Unmanned Safety Institute (USI) have partnered to offer accelerated unmanned aviation training. Open to beginners and serious hobbyists seeking a career change.
 
Drones, also known as unmanned aircraft systems (UAS), are now utilized across various industries, including agriculture, transportation, energy, waste management, healthcare, insurance, mining, public safety, and arts and entertainment. They are essential for surveying, inspection, delivery, spraying, tracking, filming, and photography. The potential commercial applications for remote systems are almost limitless.

Two Options Available

Sentaero Training
 
FULL-TIME 16-WEEK BOOTCAMP
  • Duration: 16 weeks of intensive, full-time study.
  • Structure: Combination of online and instructor led activities, including two weeks onsite at Haney Tech.

Curriculum Breakdown

  • Weeks 1–3: Block 1: Aeronautics (Part 107)

  • Weeks 4–6: Block 2: Mission Planning

  • Weeks 7–9: Block 3: Flight Training

  • Weeks 10–12: Block 4: UAS Technology

  • Week 13-14: Block 5: Human Factors

  • Week 15-16: Block 6: Safety Management

NINE MONTH BOOTCAMP
  • Duration: Flexible schedule, online learning to be completed within 9 months.

  • Structure: Online modules can be completed at the participant's pace, followed by in-person UAS flight experience.

Curriculum Breakdown

  • Weeks 1–6: Block 1: Aeronautics (Part 107)

  • Weeks 7–12: Block 2: Mission Planning

  • Weeks 13–18: Block 3: Flight Training, Onsite @ Haney Tech

  • Weeks 19–22: Block 4: UAS Technology

  • Weeks 23-27: Block 5: Human Factors

  • Weeks 28-32: Block 6: Safety Management

Part-time students are expected to complete one module per week. Each module includes self-paced materials, a progress check, and a synchronous lesson with a USI Virtual Instructor. At the end of each block of instruction, students must pass a proctored exam before advancing to the next block.

FULL FUNDING IS AVAILABLE

Thanks to funding provided by Haney Tech, and USI, this program may be available at no cost to you. You are required to complete a Federal Application for Student Aid (FAFSA) to qualify for scholarships and funding. Please note that students are responsible for all travel costs.
