Request Your USI Digital Certification Badge

USI and digital badge provider Credly have partnered to provide our certification holders with a digital badge of their USI industry credential. Digital badges can be used in email signatures, personal web sites, social media sites such as LinkedIn and Twitter, on electronic copies of resumes, and can even be downloaded into printable certificates. Digital badges help USI certification holders convey to employers, potential employers and interested parties that you possess the skills, expertise, and dedication required to earn and maintain a professional USI certification.

What is a Digital Badge?

This is what a USI digital badge looks like when you add it to your social media or email signature. There is personalized metadata included with USI badge logos, which ties the badge to your personal certification achievement profile on Credly.

One-Click Verification

Digital badges are online representations of your achievements. USI's digital badges provide our certification holders increased value by enabling interested parties to view and learn more about the credentials you hold with a single-click. The digital badge image contains verified metadata that describes your qualifications and the process required to earn them. When someone like a manager or hiring agent clicks on your badge, they will be directed to an overview page providing them with information on your qualifications and specialized skills, as well as the process you completed to earn and maintain the credential. This additional layer of content helps you more fully explain your knowledge, capabilities, and high level achievements.

When someone clicks the link corresponding to your USI digital badge, an overview page is displayed on the Credly site, and will look like this:

Why Should I Use This Digital Badge Program?

USI has worked with Credly to develop this digital badge program to help demonstrate and verify to HR and management professionals the specialized skills and abilities that have you acquired through USI coursework or field-based training. Your utilization of the USI digital badge program will help increase the awareness of your elite, industry recognized unmanned certifications, and more importantly how they differentiate you from thousands of other unmanned systems professionals, which will greatly enhance your value as a prospective employee by benefit of being USI CERTIFIED. 

How Do I Claim My Digital Badge(s)?

Certification exams are processing on Mondays, at which time your certification will be issued to the email associated with your USI account. you will receive an email from Credly asking you to accept your badge and create an account. Please make sure you have whitelisted 

After you have earned your USI certification, you will receive a completion notice on USI’s learning management platform which will prompt you to request your digital certification. After filling out USI's Digital Industry Credential request form, you will receive an email from Credly asking you to accept your badge and create an account. To facilitate timely delivery of all notices pertaining to this program, please white-list the email addresses info@FlyUSI.org and Credly's admin@credly.com.

How will I know if I've earned a badge?
You will receive an email notification from Credly (admin@credly.com) with instructions for claiming your badge and setting up your account.
What if I don’t want my badge to be public?
You can easily configure your privacy settings in Credly. You’re in complete control of the information about yourself that is made public.
What’s to keep someone else from copying my badge and using it?
While badges are simply digital image files, they are uniquely linked to data hosted on Credly. This link to verified data makes them more reliable and secure than a paper-based certificate. It also eliminates the possibility of anyone claiming your credential and your associated identity.
Where and how can I share my badge through Credly?
You can share your badge directly from Credly to LinkedIn, Twitter, and Facebook; over email; embedded in a website or in your email signature.
What are labor insights and how can I access them through Credly?
Labor market insights are pulled from live job requisitions. Based on your skills you can learn which employers are hiring, what job titles you might be qualified for, salary ranges and more. Access the labor insights from your badge details page by clicking on the skill tags assigned to your badge.
Can I export badges issued through Credly to other badge-storing platforms?

Yes, you can download your badge from the Share Badge page. Your downloaded badge contains Open Badge Infrastructure (OBI) compliant metadata embedded into the image. This allows you to store your badge on other OBI-compliant badge sites, such as the Badgr Backpack.  

Can I import badges issued from other platforms into Credly?
Not at this time.
